Extra long faux fordite earrings with hypoallergenic hooks
These extra long earrings feature quirky faux fordite triangular shaped components that I made from polymer clay. Fordite is a vintage material created by the over spray of paint in the manufacture of cars (due to improved efficiency it is no longer made). I have recreated the multicolour effect with many colours of polymer clay which I have sanded and polished to a smooth finish. There is black coloured copper wire embedded in the polymer clay so the earrings won't twist around to face the wrong way.
I have picked up some of the many colours with glass beads in various shapes and sizes. The beads hang from hypo-allergenic charcoal coloured niobium shepherd's hooks. These statement earrings are 8.4cm long including the ear-wires.
